Steel City Yoga & Ayurveda
Yoga and Ayurveda for real life
I'm Marcia, a Viniyoga teacher and qualified Ayurveda Lifestyle & Nutrition Consultant based in Sheffield.
I believe wellbeing doesn't need to be complicated. Yoga can help us move, breathe, build strength and find greater steadiness. Ayurveda gives us practical ways to look at everyday life — including food, routine, sleep, rest and the changing seasons.
I bring these two traditions together in a practical, down-to-earth way, helping you find approaches that work for your body, your life and where you are now.
Yoga classes in Sheffield
Small, friendly Viniyoga classes in Stannington, Oughtibridge and Longley.
Viniyoga is an adaptable form of Hatha yoga where the breath guides the movement. Practices can be modified to suit different bodies, abilities and experience levels.
Classes may include movement, breathwork, strengthening, balance, mobility and relaxation. There's no pressure to perform or keep up with anyone else. You work at your own pace and in a way that feels appropriate for you.
Ayurveda for everyday wellbeing
Ayurveda is a traditional system of wellbeing from India that takes a whole-person approach to how we live.
Rather than giving you a long list of rules, I use Ayurvedic principles to help you explore your own patterns and make realistic changes around things such as:
food and eating habits
daily routines
sleep and rest
energy and activity
seasonal living
creating more supportive habits
Small changes can make a difference. You don't need to change everything at once.
1:1 yoga and Ayurveda
Sometimes a group class isn't quite what you need. 1:1 sessions give us the time and space to work specifically with you.
You can choose personalised yoga, an Ayurveda lifestyle consultation, or a combination of the two.
We'll look at where you are now, what you'd like to work on and what feels realistic for your everyday life.

Workshops and wellbeing events
I also run workshops and events exploring yoga, Ayurveda and everyday wellbeing, sometimes alongside other local wellbeing practitioners.
Recent topics have included sleep, menopause, Ayurveda, rest and emotional wellbeing.
Yoga helps us work with the body and breath. Ayurveda helps us look at how we live.
Both can be adapted to the individual.
